Each year the Missouri Waste Control Coalition presents its OUTSTANDING AWARDS IN WASTE MANAGEMENT
during its annual conference. The next conference will be held June 17-19, 2012, at the Lodge of the Four Seasons, Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri.
One of the goals of the MWCC is to recognize outstanding achievements in the waste management industry each year.

Eligibility: is open to any business both for profit and non-profit, industry, government entity or individual, citizens group, and solid waste operation located within the State of Missouri.

Categories for Outstanding Achievement
ENVIRONMENTAL INNOVATION: Projects that qualify for outstanding achievement in environmental innovation will demonstrate automation of an existing process or processes; will have derived an entirely new process/application not previously available; or will have utilized emerging technologies or any combination of the techniques listed in a way that produces enhanced performance both environmentally and economically, is sustainable and shows documented results both before and after implementation.
TRANSFER OF TECHNOLOGY: Projects that qualify for outstanding achievement in transfer of technology are based on education and training programs which can be readily communicated and recreated to produce a wide variety of benefits to industry areas such as waste, wastewater, water, and land management, conservation and compliance management and/or the professionals that serve these industry areas.
ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP: Projects that qualify for achievement in environmental stewardship will demonstrate exceptional improvement, protection, and/or restoration of areas such watersheds, wild life or endangered species habitat, soil, water, or wastewater management practices, reduced pollutant emissions or consumption of natural resources with methods that are both environmentally and economically sustainable and shows documented results both before and after implementation
SOLID WASTE LEADERSHIP: Organizations that qualify for outstanding achievement in solid waste leadership will have demonstrated exceptional leadership such as "first in state" to achieve required goals and/or implement new processes, achieve operational improvements such as reduced energy consumption, beyond the call of duty civic and/or community involvement, or successful facilitation of public/private partnerships which resulted in exceptional projects.
LIFE-TIME ACHIEVEMENT: This award is reserved for an individual for whom the MWCC Board of Directors identifies as having served the organization, environmental industry, a community, a government agency or state of Missouri in a truly special and unique way.
COALITION CONTRIBUTIONS: recognizes an individual whose efforts have contributed significantly to the development and growth of the Missouri Waste Control Coalition.
