Each year the Missouri Waste Control Coalition presents its OUTSTANDING
AWARDS IN WASTE MANAGEMENT during its annual conference. The next conference will be held June 22-24, 2008 at the Lodge of the Four
Seasons, Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri.
The Missouri Waste Control Coalition was formed in 1981. The initial purpose
of the organization was to sponsor an annual conference that brought together
citizens, government and industry to discuss waste management issues. The
Coalition has an active educational program. One of its goals is to recognize outstanding achievements in the waste management industry each year.

Eligibility: Any entity or person which falls into the categories listed and is located in Missouri.

Categories for Outstanding Achievement
BUSINESS: awarded to a private business such as contracting, consulting,
industrial, or manufacturing, whose actions and attitudes have surpassed the necessary requirements to meet
or exceed regulatory guidelines or who have made a unique contribution to
waste management practices.
WASTE INDUSTRY: awarded to a private business involved in the waste industry, such as a private facility operator or resource recovery, whose actions and attitudes have surpassed the necessary requirements to meet or exceed regulatory guidelines or who have made a unique contribution to waste manaement practices.
GOVERNMENT: recognizes the contributions of a state, local or federal unit
of government, a government employee, or an elected/appointed official in
resolving waste management problems.
EDUCATION: presented to a student, an educator, a school, or other
educational institution whose efforts have facilitated a better understanding
of Missouri's natural environment and/or proper waste management practice.
CITIZEN/NON-PROFIT: given to an individual citizen or non-profit
organization whose efforts have promoted proper waste management practices.
COALITION CONTRIBUTIONS: recognizes an individual whose efforts have
contributed significantly to the development and growth of the Missouri Waste
Control Coalition.
SPECIAL RECOGNITION: is reserved for outstanding lifetime achievement in the waste management field.
