MWCC will provide an in-person 40-hour HAZWOPER Training consistent with OSHA's Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response standard (29 CFR 1910.10 and 1925.65). Students will receive a training manual, and at the conclusion of the course, they will receive validation certificates.

Registration fee per registrant is $250; $100 for full-time students. Class is limited to the first 50 participants and a limited number of seats are available. A waiting list will be available in the event of cancellations. 

At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose of OSHA and its role in regulating occupational safety
  • Use Site Characterization to establish problems that may exist in your workplace and measures that can be implemented to eliminate hazards
  • Identify hazardous materials existent in the workplace and the possible methods, symptoms and preventative measures of exposure
  • Be able to use a Safety Data sheets (SDS) to identify and properly handle hazardous materials
  • Become familiar with materials, compounds and mixtures that may present flammable, explosive, chemical or radiological hazards
  • Understand the importance of personal protective equipment in limiting hazardous exposure
  • Establish an effective Site Control Program to limit the risk of exposure to only those working in the hazardous work zone
  • Implement procedures for treating workers in the event of hazardous exposure

As indicated, this class will be offered in-person.  Participants will be required to download the manual from the web and bring it with them.
