The Missouri Waste Control
Coalition will not be sponsoring the annual greeting card
competition for 2007.
The purpose of the competition is to get kids
interested, involved and thinking about waste issues.
The Missouri Waste Control Coalition is an organization formed in
1982 made
up of Missourians interested in waste control issues. The
organization,s
goals are to promote safe, effective and economically sound waste
management practices in the State including: pollution control,
recycling, reduction in disposal of solid and hazardous waste,
promotion of product stewardship and education in the waste control
fields.
This year the coalition is offering $100.00
to the 1st place winner in each of the following grades: 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. From those four winners, a grand prize winner will be selected.
An award of
$100.00 will also be given to the grand prize
classroom.
The grand prize winner will also receive
a supply of his/her card specially printed.
Additionally, the winning cards will be on display at the Missouri
Waste
Control Coalition Conference to be held at the Lake of the Ozarks in
Missouri
June 25-27, 2006. Winners, teachers and parents will be invited
as guests
at the conference luncheon where the winners will receive their
awards.
Transportation to the conference will be the responsibility of all
parties.
Card submittals should be mailed by May 2, 2006. Winners will be announced mid May. Further details can be found on the application.
