Presenters:

Brandon Backus is the Hazardous Waste Enforcement Unit Supervisor within the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ Waste Management Program. Brandon graduated from Columbia College with a BS in  Environmental Science and has been with the Department for seven years.


April Brennan is a Senior Project Manager & Client Manager at Environmental Works, Inc, (EWI) with over 18 years’ experience in consulting and environmental, health, and safety, with a passion to help clients overcome their challenges. At EWI, April leads a team in strategic services, providing compliance, remediation, EHS, and auditing support for clients. April also conducts training services (e.g., HAZWOPER, SWPPP/SPCC, hazardous waste) and is responsible for continuous improvement and business development. April received a B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Biology from Missouri State University (formerly Southwest Missouri State University). 


Eddie Ramirez is the Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Envirotek, a hazardous-waste disposal company serving customers across the Midwest. He helps organizations design streamlined, compliant disposal programs and solve complex waste challenges. Eddie brings over a decade across the full waste-management lifecycle, with roles in account management and business development at Hazmat Inc., environmental consulting at Environmental Works, and wastewater treatment leadership at Valicor. Across these roles, he has led multimillion-dollar accounts in both the private and public sectors. Eddie began his career in California, navigating some of the nation’s strictest environmental regulations before relocating to serve the Midwest. He resides in Kansas City.
